BEL Share Biggest dividend in 3 years
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has declared its largest interim dividend in three years. The record date for this dividend has been fixed on March 11. At the board meeting held on March 5, BEL announced an interim dividend for its shareholders. Under this, an interim dividend of Rs 1.5 per share was approved. This is the highest dividend since August 2022, when the company declared the last dividend of the same amount.
Earlier, BEL had announced to distribute less than 1 per share dividend in 6 consecutive announcements. Shares of the company are currently trading at ₹274.40 on the BSE. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs 281.10.
BEL Share Dividend and Bonus History
Between 2019 and 2022, Bharat Electronics declared dividends between Re 1 and Rs 2 per share on nine occasions, the highest being Rs 1.7 in August 2019. In February 2017, an interim dividend of Rs 3 was declared. Earlier, the final dividend of Rs 14.50 was distributed in August 2016.
In addition to the dividend, BEL rewarded shareholders with bonus shares in September 2022. Two bonus shares were issued for every share held. Also, in March 2017, the company broke its shares into 10 parts, causing the face value to fall from Rs 10 to Rs 1 per share.
Performance of government shares in the last one year
Last year, within 4 months, the share of Bharat Electronics registered a strong increase of about 90%. On March 15, 2024, the share price was at the lowest level of the year at Rs 179.20. By July 10, 2024, it had reached a record high of Rs 340.35. However, since reaching this high, the stock has fallen nearly 20%.
