The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has achieved a major milestone. LIC has set a Guinness World Records for selling the highest number of life insurance policies in 24 hours. According to LIC, on January 20, 2025, its 452,839 agents collectively issued a total of 588,107 insurance policies across India. This achievement has been officially recognized in the Guinness World Records.

LIC Shares the News Guinness World Records

LIC stated that this accomplishment reflects the hard work, dedication, and professionalism of its agents. It also highlights their mission to provide financial security to every family through these policies.

A Special Initiative: ‘Mad Million Day’

This record was part of a special initiative led by LIC’s Managing Director and CEO, Siddharth Mohanty. He urged all agents to sell at least one policy each on January 20, 2025, which was designated as ‘Mad Million Day.’ On this historic occasion, Siddharth Mohanty thanked all customers, agents, and employees, noting that this day will be remembered forever in LIC’s history.

LIC Increases Stake in Company

Recently, on May 23, LIC increased its stake in Patanjali Foods, led by Baba Ramdev. LIC now holds over 9% of Patanjali Foods’ shares, up from a lower percentage previously. Patanjali Foods informed the stock exchange that LIC purchased an additional 2% stake, raising its total shareholding from 25,566,046 shares.
