PM Awas Yojana Registration 2025: The Government of India has launched the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) to provide housing to all poor and needy families across the country. Under this scheme, beneficiaries receive financial assistance ranging from ₹1.20 lakh to ₹1.30 lakh to build a permanent house. Applications are currently open for both rural and urban areas. Families who have not yet applied can register online under the PM Awas Yojana.

What is the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana?
The PM Awas Yojana is a central government initiative aimed at providing affordable housing to families without their own permanent home. Citizens belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Lower Income Group (LIG), and Middle Income Group (MIG) can register to benefit from this scheme. Home loan interest subsidies are also provided under this program.
The goal is to provide permanent housing to 3 crore families by 2029. These houses will come with essential amenities such as gas, electricity, water supply, and toilets. Both rural and urban families are eligible to apply. In the second phase, the government aims to build around 1 crore houses in urban areas and 2 crore houses in rural areas.
What is the objective of the PM Awas Yojana?
The scheme was launched to provide permanent housing to families living in temporary or rented houses in rural and urban areas. Beneficiaries receive financial assistance to construct durable homes. The main goal is to provide affordable, modern housing to poor families to improve their living standards.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must be a resident of a rural area.
- The applicant’s family should be included in the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011.
- The applicant should not own a permanent house.
- The applicant’s household should not own a three-wheeler or four-wheeler vehicle.
- No family member should be a government employee.
- The family’s monthly income should not exceed ₹15,000.
- The applicant’s family should not be an income tax payer.
Note: Recently, the government has also made families owning assets like bikes or refrigerators eligible under this scheme. Additionally, the annual income limit has been increased from ₹10 lakh to ₹15 lakh.

How to Register for PM Awas Yojana?
- First, visit the official website of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
- On the homepage, click on the option “PMAY U 2.0” or “PMAY-G.”
- A new page will open; read the instructions carefully and click on “Proceed.”
- On the next page, check your eligibility.
- After that, a form will open—fill in all the required information carefully.
- Enter all the requested details accurately.
- Then enter your name and Aadhaar number.
- Verify the OTP and complete the online form.
- Upload all the necessary documents as requested and submit the form.
- Your PM Awas Yojana registration will be successfully completed.
